Janelle Clausen, a senior journalism major, describes herself as a part-time Jedi in a love/hate relationship with politics. Writing is her specialization (it has been since she produced “The Doggy Times” at six years old), but she enjoys photography too. She’ll be graduating in the fall semester and hopes to travel the world.
She is an intern with Newsday and News 12, a staff writer for the Stony Brook Independent, a host of the Stony Brook Press’s “The Agenda,” a politics podcast, and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. She previously reported in China in summer 2014, interned with ACJ Communications Inc., and served as an award-winning editor for the Vignette, Nassau Community College’s student newspaper.
When she’s not busy, you could usually find her buried in a good book, writing fiction, binging on Netflix with her toy Husky, or getting really annoyed about something in the news. On the really good days, she’ll be sleeping.
